After the interview, the conversation turned to music. Mr. Tamai has always enjoyed music as an integral part of his life, and lately, he has been listening to vinyl records. What surprised me most, however, was that he remains an avid fan of cassette tapes. Even back when everyone else was listening to CDs, he would say, "I love that grainy, textured sound." In his daily life, he loads his iPod with music from various genres, enjoying whatever suits the moment. While some people might chuckle at the mere mention of cassette tapes, Mr. Tamai is different; he approaches things without prejudice, possessing an unwavering, gentle flexibility. That adaptability likely extends beyond his lifelong passion for fishing to his work in crafting snowboards.
